Cortlain & Courtney: Married

I’m going to let you in on a little secret… this is not the first time Cortlain and Courtney have been married. This is actually both of their second times…getting married to each other!

The first ceremony was an intimate one in the Viehman family living room over a year ago. This time, it was to celebrate their marriage and the life they’ve built together with all of their family and friends. Take a look below at all of the photos by SMB Photography capturing their special day, that gorgeous dress, and a little cupcake thievery.

We started out the day as always, with hair & makeup, mimosas, and excited anticipation.

Waugh-48I have to hand it to these groomsmen on taking the initiative to get ready and look their  best!

Here in Missouri, we were in the middle of a what seemed like never-ending rainy days. It had been ten days of on and off storms and, as it would happen, there were torrential downpours all morning and afternoon. The bride and groom and their bridal party were so flexible and Steven and Megan still got beautiful shots even though outdoor photography was not possible.

Waugh-8418192711_1212294398892508_1225827259219335176_oCortlain & Courtney shared a sweet first look. Another inside scoop: all the bridesmaids and mother’s were sneaking a peek from behind some pipe and drapes. No one can resist a good first look!

Now it was time for the ceremony, but not before Courtney and her sister snuck a cupcake, just like when they were growing up.

Waugh-118While their guests were enjoying Cocktail Hour, Cortlain, Courtney, and their bridal party took to the roof for pictures. The rain let up just in time and the St. Louis skyline was the perfect backdrop for group and couple photos.

Neo is always a great venue, a perfect empty space to create your own look and style. Courtney designed the centerpieces herself and the industrial lights are always hanging!

Waugh-115For all the hockey fans out there, this cake topper and cupcake stands are for you! The cupcake stands were made by the bride’s brother and had both the Blues and Bruins (no hard feelings) decals on them. The cake topper tied it all together, puck and all.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Waugh! I hope you both experience endless happiness and blessings together!

Spring Styled Shoot

I hope you have been anticipating this blog post as much as I have! I am so thrilled to share the gorgeous images from our Styled Shoot on May 2nd. In the middle of a 10-day stretch of rain, downpours, and thunder…Tuesday was sunny, clear, and 70°. I don’t know about you, but that was a definite sign to me.

As soon as I saw the Aquarelle linen from BBJ Linen‘s new line, I knew that I had to hold a styled shoot. This vibrant and colorful tablecloth set the stage for the rest of the shoot and what I wanted to accomplish. In short, I wanted an exciting new take on spring and summer weddings. One that was out-of-the-box, daring, and fun! So i set to work pulling together a team of vendors that I knew could capture this essence. They are all fabulous and I hope you are lucky enough to get to work with them or hire them (all of their information is below)!

On to the day…

We started by picking up bundtlets (I was very tempted to have a few for breakfast) and strolling out of Town & Country Bridal Boutique with a beautiful gown just like any other day. Every time I stepped outside into the sunshine, my smile widened and my heart leapt with excitement. The rest of the day was spent prepping décor and trying to still that leaping heart.

When we arrived at Faust Park around 5 pm, our models Allison & Matt headed off with Courtney for Bride and Groom shots. As we setup our table and décor, I could hear Courtney exclaiming over how amazing they were. I would hear, “Guysss, stop it. Oh my goodness, you are too cute. Stop.” I’m glad they didn’t stop…because here’s what came from those moments. Please enjoy the following images, try not to faint from the beauty, and then spread the love! Be sure to like, share, and follow AEE and all of these wonderful vendors who helped make our vision a reality!
