Aaron & Megan: Engaged

Aaron & Megan have been together for four years and they’re making it forever in a month! Megan reached out to us not too long ago and we fell in love with her vision (and her) immediately. It’s going to be a busy and beautiful weekend for our AEE family! We can’t wait to celebrate these two and their love on May 27th. See below for their fun and colorful engagement photos and a little bit more about their story!

How did you meet?

We met on an online dating app.  I was a senior at WashU applying to medical school and Aaron was a young professional in St. Louis.  Our first date was at Kayaks coffee, which is also where we went right before we got engaged!

Share one of your favorite dates.

We really enjoy trying new restaurants and food experiences. We did a cooking class early in the year and it was a lot of fun to use a sous vide and salt block (which both ended up on our registry).  Another fun date we have been on recently is going to a hole-in-the wall taco place in Detroit (which Megan admits she wasn’t super sure about) and then an awesome tiki bar.

When did you know he/she was the one?

Megan: When I realized I couldn’t move to Ann Arbor without him!

How did he pop the question?

He popped the question during Thurtene Weekend at WashU in Brookings Quad which is the picturesque entrance to the University.  We then went to dinner and my parents and sister had come from Chicago to surprise me and celebrate!

Was the proposal a surprise?

Kind of, I knew that it was coming, but he faked me out a few times!

What is your favorite thing about your fiancé?

He is able to make me laugh every day.  There is never a dull moment.

How do you envision your wedding day?

We want to be a party!  We have many unique groups of people coming to our wedding and we hope they all mix and have a great time!

How did you decide on your venue?

We made it a family affair and our parents went along with Aaron to tour venues.  Megan was on a one-month “sub-internship,” which is essentially a one month job interview, and didn’t see the Coronado until they signed the contract.

Are there any special or family traditions you’ll be incorporating?

Megan’s grandma is making her put a coin in her shoe, which is an Irish tradition for good luck.

What are you looking forward to most about your wedding day?

Seeing everyone we love and having a great time with each other!
